What

As Web 2.0 technologies (AJAX, Mash-ups, Web Services, etc.) are becoming in more demand by major organizations and government agencies, the question is: How easy/can I do it with it Microsoft-based technology?  Well, join us for a 1 hour talk on how easy it is to add 2D/3D Mapping Capabilities to your web applications using Virtual Earth Technology.  It’s surprisingly easy with the Virtual Earth Map Control.

Here’s more detail:

The Virtual Earth Platform is an integrated set of services that combines unique bird’s eye, aerial, and satellite imagery with best-of-breed mapping, location and search functionality. It enables business to deliver innovative solutions and breakthrough customer experiences.  With the Virtual Earth platform, companies can create an immersive experience that enables consumers to easily discover, search, and visualize business location data and locally relevant information. Take your websites and applications to the next level by integrating the Virtual Earth Platform to deliver the highly visual and locally relevant information consumer’s care about most.  This will be a developer focused session on programming with the Virtual Earth Map Control.

Today’s talk will focus on the very easy to integrate/use Virtual Earth Map Control.  The demonstration will focus on:

  • How easy it is to integrate the mapping control in any application (Microsoft or Other)
  • Programmatically control how the Users experience will be with the map
  • Control 3D/2D, Zooming, locator “pins”, etc.
  • How specifically it would work with ASP.NET Applications

Who should come?

If you work on, or think that you will work on, any projects in the DoD, Aerospace, Transportation, Homeland Security space, this is definitely for you.  But the uses are not limited to these industries only.  Once you see what you can do and how easy it is, you may find other uses.  The presentation will be Developer Focused, but technical managers might find it interesting from a “capabilities” perspective.

WIN (1 copy of each raffled @ the end of the dinner to 1 winner)
