.NET Framework 3.0 RC1 and tools available

.NET Framework 3.0 Release Candidate (RC) was made available for download on September 1st.  I have been holding off on blogging about it because all of the relevant tools were not yet available until yesterday.  Rob Relyea has a nice post here pointing you to all the bits.

Someone at Microsoft should put some dates on when the tools for VS.net will be released, we already know that .net 3.0 is RC1 and it is about 2 or 3 months away from releasing, but the VS.net tools for RC1 are not even beta, I would say they are just a prototype. Maybe there is other code that is being developed at Microsoft, and it would be nice if there is an estimate release data for those tools, like 6 months, a year or 2 years or …. So we can know what to do and plan how to write our future applications.
