AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) is all the buzz in the web application development world. It is a technology or more precisely a technique for building web pages that is more interactive, efficient and palatable to end users. However, the core to AJAX is “JAVASCRIPT,” which can mean that the ASP.NET developer (C#, VB.NET, etc.) are left out in the cold, right? Not exactly!

Come join us for a demonstration-oriented talk on the upcoming Microsoft ATLAS framework, which will allow the ASP.NET and Visual Studio developer to easily AJAX-enable ASP.NET applications. This talk will be based on the current BETA version of ATLAS, but will give you an understanding of where Microsoft is today and where we are going with AJAX technology.

In this talk we’ll cover the following topics:

  • Overview of AJAX

  • Overview of the ATLAS Framework

  • AJAX for the ASP.NET Developer (The Server-side story)

  • ATLAS, Virtual Earth, and Mash-up’s (The Client-side story)
