Team Foundation Server - how can I get it?
If you aren't already aware, Team Foundation Server (TFS) released to manufacturing earlier this month. If you want a nice PDF on Team Foundation Server, I've put one here on our Federal Developer website:
There are two versions of TFS, a Workgroup Edition and the full version. Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Workgroup Edition is currently available from MSDN Subscriber Downloads to all VSTx w/MSDN Premium subscribers. The Workgroup Edition is exactly the same as the full version but limits use to 5 users.
The full version of TFS is not included with an MSDN subscription. For developers working in the Federal space, the best way for you to obtain TFS is via your organization's Volume Licensing enrollment. After May 1st, we have the ability to add TFS and TFS CALs onto your organization's Volume Licensing enrollment. In the Federal space, you may also obtain TFS via your organization's GSA enrollments after May 1st. Also be aware that the prices on the MSDN website for TFS & VSTS products are retail prices. Prices on your organization's Volume Licensing enrollments are discounted below these retail costs.
