HD DVD Jumpstart Kit Beta Available

Now you can start building and testing HD DVD interactive content on your home computer!

After some delay, the beta release of the iHD simulator and related tools is available from https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=994accae-1591-4cc0-9d5b-03b0494686a4&displaylang=en.

Note that this IS NOT a complete HD DVD player (it won't play back retail discs, for example) and it IS NOT intended to replace Windows Media Player (or your player of choice) for watching WMV files.

What it IS intended to do is let you playback and interact with iHD content whilst also having your main / secondary video in the background.

I guess this means I need to get back to writing my tutorials :-). I took a bit of a break over NAB, but now I should be back and writing more blogs (and you can play along in the comfort of your own home!). Also, check out the HD DVD blog at https://blogs.msdn.com/hddvd/ for more information. I will still be blogging here, but you should find more official information there (and of course at the official Microsoft website https://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/hddvd/)
