Career Update

Just thought I’d let people know that I have moved from the Visual Studio Tools for Office team to the Secure Windows Initiative team.

Exactly what that means for my blogging activities, I don’t yet know.

I haven’t really been doing much of it lately anyway :-/

  3. Man!!!! This is sad.

Peter, the Office community will miss you. Thanks for your hard work on our behalf.

  4. Peter,

Congrats to you on your move! But I must say you will be missed in the world of making Office extensible and secure :

lol – if you think unsigned code is a security issue for Firefox, wait until you get into the swiss cheese that is IE.

  7. Guffaw says:

Secure Windows? How funny is that? Heheheheh

  8. What is it like working for a giant, but slowly dying company?

Now you know how the people at Digital felt. Enjoy the ride down – I can think of no company more deserving.

Secure Windows Initiative??? This is part of the Marketing department right…..ha ha ha Secure Windows ho ho ho ho

  10. Nate MC says:

"Normal disclaimers apply. I am not responsible for anything, and neither is Microsoft."

Figures, maybe if they would take responsibility something could get fixed around there. Your great at spreading FUD but lets watch as the slashback breaks down your story nearly point by point, it’s like watching a rabbit get eaten by a snake. Disturbing but entertaining.

  11. You’re getting absolutely roasted <a href="http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/12/21/0038235&tid=172&tid=154&tid=109&tid=113&tid=1">here and rightly so, your bosses aren’t going to like this…

  12. .. so can we assume the new plan for Secure Windows is to use Windows 98 but have stronger signing built into the installer.

  13. Pat says:

"secure Windows"?? Is that like an oxymoron??

  16. Thanks to everyone who stayed late in the day on Friday to catch my talk on Office Solution Architecture. I really appreciate the fact that you guys had planes to catch, movies to watch, and headaches (from 3 straight days of raw data fed into your brains) and you still sat through an hour of me yammering away on Office :^)
