Office Developers Conference Starts Today

The Microsoft Office System 2003 Developers conference starts today here on the Microsoft campus. I think this is a great start at bringing the Office Developer into the spotlight. Office is a powerful platform for developers. In the past the focus has been on the end user, but that's starting to change. The Office Developer is no longer only coding solutions in VBA but can now code against Word and Excel using the full power of Visual Studio 2005, (shipping later this year), called Visual Studio Tools 2005 for the Microsoft Office System 2003 (VSTO 2005).

Bill Gates will be giving a key note talk on Friday morning. One of the featured Demos will be VSTO 2005. I am looking forward to this. Our team has been working really hard to make this a cool demo that shows off what can be done.

I went over to the conference this morning and registered. I will be there tomorrow for an ask the experts session. This is where the attendees can stop by and ask specific questions to the Product Team members. So stop by and see me if you are at the conference.
