Office System 2003 Launched

Today is the launch of the next version of Office. I am very exited about this version
as a developer. My favorite feature is one that the user may not even know is there,
XML. This version of Office takes the first step in pulling together all of the Office
applications under XML. This has many benifits, one being typed documents. Now you
can mark up your documents with XML and perform actions on this typed information.
You can for example extract information from the documents as a data source; let me
find all documents with policy ID of 1234. This information can be extracted using
standard XML tools, including server side. I will try to highlight other great developer
features in future entries.
