WPPI Conference and Trade Expo - Day One

There was a mad rush at 10:30 AM this morning as the waiting crowd rushed into the MGM Marquee ballroom to take advantage of the best specials and giveaways kicking off WPPI 2009. In fact, our friends and booth neighbors at Asuka Books (#1619) gave away a free book to the first 100 attendees who showed up...
Here at the Microsoft Booth (#1613) we hosted a steady stream of our Microsoft Icons of Imaging starting off with Matthew Jordan Smith, followed by Jerry Ghionis, Bambi Cantrell, Peter Krogh, and Denis Reggie. All are Master Class or main program platform speakers throughout WPPI this week.
We are also showcasing our "Better Together" RAW workflow software combo of Phase One Capture One 4 & Microsoft Expression Media 2, which, for the first time, is available for sale at the show through Samy's Camera (#1546). Regularly $199 online, show attendees can buy it for $99 at Samy's booth or by entering the supersecret code online at the Better Together web site.
In addition to the Icons and software demos, we are also showcasing Windows Home Server, the Lenovo W700 mobile workstation, and the W700ds with the extra pull-out monitor. You have to see it to believe it.....
If you are attending, or thinking of attending WPPI, this week, there are some great deals being offered by most of the vendors at the trade show and hotel rooms are still available in the neighboring properties at competitive prices. Attendance is expected to ring in at about 10,000, which leads us to believe that perhaps Skip Cohen and his staff at Rangefinder Publishing have a very sound economic stimulus plan of their own....
