Location of WEPOS Security Updates for OEMs and Distributors is changing at the end of January

If you have not downloaded any security updates for Windows Embedded for Point of Service recently, or not otherwise logged into the OEM Secure site, you may have missed the notice regarding the location change for the updates coming at the end of January. Here, with help from Katy Shaw who represents the new site, is the info you need to know:

If You Are a Direct OEM:
Product Downloads, also referred to as Product Updates or Supplemental Code, are currently available to Direct OEMs on the restricted access Embedded OEM Web Site and on MS OEM Online (MOO). The Embedded OEM Web Site will retire on January 31, 2007.
Beginning February 1, 2007, Downloads will be available to Direct OEMs on MOO only. All other resources previously posted on the Embedded OEM web site are now available on the Mobile & Embedded Communications Extranet (ECE).

  • For access to MOO, please email the MS OEM Online Helpdesk: moohelp@microsoft.com.
  • For access to the ECE, please email MS Mobile & Embedded Communications Feedback & Support: ECE@microsoft.com.

Your Microsoft Account Manager can assist with any questions in this regard.

If You Are an Embedded Distributor or OEM Who Purchase Through Distribution:
Beginning February 1, 2007, all Downloads will be available to OEMs and viewable by MS Authorized Embedded Distributors (MS Distributors) on the Mobile & Embedded Communications Extranet (ECE). As the migration is currently underway, select Downloads are available now on the ECE. All other resources previously posted on the Embedded OEM web site are now available on the ECE.

If You are an End User:
End users will still download their security updates from the Download Center on Microsoft.com.
