Surface and Healthcare at HIMMS

Somanna Palacanda from the Microsoft Surface team was at HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) this week in Atlanta. Microsoft was showcasing their own and partner solutions designed to help healthcare providers improve the quality of care.

InterKnowlogyOur Surface Strategic Partner, InterKnowlogy, was there with their VitruView application. VitruView enables physicians and patients to interact with data in a unique and intuitive way. In this case, a 3D image of a patient’s heart is shown and leverages technologies including Microsoft Surface, Windows 7 on an HP TouchSmart PC and a Windows Phone to make rich information available real-time across multiple devices.

iLink SystemsOur Surface Partner iLink Systems developed two applications as part of a pilot program for The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. Both applications are designed to simplify access to patient information, enable physician collaboration and facilitate interactive patient and doctor communication.
