Server Maintenance Happening Now

In order to move more of the Photosynth backend to the wonderful world of Windows Azure (see the previous blog post) we’re going to have a scheduled outage of Photosynth on Wednesday February 1st, starting at 10:00am Pacific Time. Current plans are as follows.

10 minutes of complete system outage. You won’t be able to view or upload anything. This will be followed by

Up to 4 hours of upload outage. During this time you will be able to view synths and panos, but not upload any new ones.

All work should be completed by 2pm Pacific Time – hopefully sooner.

We will be updating our status via Twitter during this period, so please follow @Photosynth if you want to be alerted as we move through the process.

Thanks for your support.
The Photosynth team.

  1. We're a little behind schedule this morning. Downtime has been delayed for at least an hour. Follow @Photosynth on Twitter for realtime updates.

Is this a precursor to greater functionality for linked photos and the greater photosynth goal :0 🙂

  3. The server maintenance is now under way. The downtime has completed, and we're now in "readonly" mode. Uploads, comments, favoriting, and thread posting are disabled for the next few hours.

  4. All finished now. Uploads, comments, favorite and thread posting should work again.

Thanks for your patience. Let us know if you see anything unexpected.
