Photo360: Showcasing Singapore to the World

Last week was pretty eventful and action packed for Singapore youth. As you might be aware Singapore is the host of the first ever Youth Olympic Games this year. In line with this national mega event, we took the opportunity to use Photosynth to showcase Singapore to the foreign athletes and visitors; we ran a Photosynth contest to synth Singapore tourist, heritage and sports sites. The contest had a week long run and had prizes worth over SGD$5000!

13th March:  Photo360 Kickoff

We had over 62 student teams and 25 open category teams(basically open to anyone who is not a student) which is close to 200 young photographers all eager to get on with  synthing Singapore.  The students were allocated various tourist, heritage and sporting venues in Singapore while the open category could choose their own locations. Despite various challenges faced by the teams, they persisted and we now have a total of 145 synths from Singapore for you to view and enjoy as a result of this contest.

20th March:  Photo360 Awards:

We had the Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Community Youth and Sports(MCYS) – Mr. Teo Ser Luck as the guest of honor. He strongly appreciated the technology and the cause of using the web based tool(photosynth) to showcase Singapore to the foreign athletes and visitors coming to Singapore later this year.
