Secret surprise: a hidden feature for easier synthing

Sometimes there are ‘undocumented features’ in a product that you discover by accident.  Here’s one that makes creating a synth a little bit easier.

If you hit the ‘start a new synth’ button, you’ll go through to this screen, where you’ll click the ‘Add photos’ button and start adding your photos.

But what you didn’t know is, you can start adding photos before you even get to this screen—because you can add photos just by dragging and dropping them anywhere on the green area of the previous screen:

It works especially well with Windows Live Photo Gallery—just select the photos you want and drag them all together to the green area on that box.  When you go through to the next screen, they’ll already be there!

Honestly, i hate doing this… but i had to leave a comment here because i couldn’t find anywhere to write question or leave feedback directly to the photosynth people. Is there a place for this? (including for other MS Live Labs or Tech Previews?)

Anyway, the real question is: When i sign into the photosynth website, i get the message

"Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.

Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?"

Is photosynth’s website not using secure methods to send our MS Live ID and passwords?
