Check out these cool synths

One of our favorite synths is Foamhenge, a life-size replica of Stonehenge in Northern Virginia. It could only look more authentic if it had a fence around it and a concession stand selling $4 bottles of water.

While we were shooting our How to Synth video, we did a synth of the incredible house in Seattle that the owners let us use. If you like unusual objects d’art, you’ve got to see this.

Washington, DC is always full of tourists, and the US Capitol is one of the places they photograph most. What you may not have seen before are the out-of-towners getting around the Capitol’s West Front in a pretty unusual way. See if you can find them–you’ll have to zoom in pretty close.

While you’re in DC, check out the National Archives–you can get close enough to see the ink on the Constitution.

Take a break from the Olympics and get to know Beijing’s Forbidden City.
Or maybe you’d rather spend a few minutes in the lap of luxury–deciding whether to buy a new Bentley or a Lamborghini.

OK, so why does the Photosynth site think that my Vista Ultimate SP1 IE7 browser is a MAC (and no, this is not a VM, or Parallels on MAC hardware – Toshiba M5)? When I try to look at synths, it send me to the page talking about the MAC version isn’t available yet & it only works on XP & Vista. Hello?!  And… Firefox 3 loads the page & synths fine!

I get the following msg in Firefox 3.0.1 on XP SP3:

"Unfortunately, we’re not cool enough to run on your OS yet. We really wish we had a version of Photosynth that worked cross platform, but for now it only runs on Windows.

Trust us, as soon as we have a Mac version ready, it will be up and available on our site."

  3. i got a quite good panorama from Oktoberfest 2007, but I am dissapointed from the stichter that he doesnt get all images together.

Stitching in PTGUI is no problem as you can see here:

My first try, we will stage Jesus Christ Superstar tomorrow and I thought I should capture this place:

Not all photos are connected, sadly, but I think it ended up fairly ok.

you’re not even cool enough to admit that there are other cool OSs apart from Win & Mac OS.

Shame that you’re developing linux-based and now don’t even let us participate!

Funny that Win-Users should have problems seeing your site as well…. see below… lmao
