SQL Server SP3 shipped with files that have known compatibility issues on Vista and Windows 2008. To resolve, it is suggested that you apply Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1, See https://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=960320 for more information.

If you obtain the SQL Server SP3 update through Microsoft Update when available, you may see a Windows dialog mentioning the issue. You can dismiss this dialog and then apply Visual Studio Service Pack 1.
