For the past 5 years, one of my favorite local tech events of the year has been Bar Camp NYC. I’m excited to announce that BarCamp is set to return to New York City again for BarCampNYC6 on May 21st & 22nd!
There’s no bar, but I’m sure we’ll be hanging out at one in the evenings after the event. Be sure to bring your brain though. You’ll need it, because at BarCamp you will meet and mingle with some of the brightest minds in our area.
If you haven’t heard of BarCamp before, you can go to http://barcamp.org to learn more about it. Here’s a short synopsis:
BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. The event doesn’t cost any money, but there is a price: all attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn are welcome and invited to join. When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.
