April 12th marked the release of Visual Studio 2010 & .NET 4. We’re celebrating with a series of national launch events, including one here in the tri-state metro area in Brooklyn on May 13th from 8:30 AM to 5 PM. Rachel Appel, Bob Hunt, and I will be speaking at the launch event along with several other Microsoft folks in the area.
There are actually two launch events in one, just choose from:
- Developer Event – Focus on Visual Studio 2010
- IT Professional Event – Focus on Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, and SQL Server 2008 R2
Tip #1: You don’t need a registration code – just click the “Developer” or “IT Professional” links directly to sign up.
Tip #2: Yes, we know Brooklyn isn’t Manhattan. 🙂 But it’s still NYC! The Brooklyn Marriott is just over the Brooklyn Bridge from lower Manhattan, and a only single extra stop on most of the major subway lines from the financial district. For all you LIRR/NJ Transit folks, take the A (express) or C train from Penn Station to Jay St/Borough Hall station. For all the Metro-North folks, take the 4 or 5 train from Grand Central Station to Borough Hall station.
The June MSDN Metro Roadshow:
2010 Launch Tour
The MSDN Metro Roadshow is a quarterly series of free events for developers and architects. We keep the atmosphere relaxed, but dive into a variety of technical topics, code, and demos that sometimes actually work.
What’s on the agenda this time around?
Learn about the rich application platforms that Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2010 supports, including Windows® 7, the Web, SharePoint®, Windows Azure™, SQL®, and Windows® Phone 7 Series. From tighter tester and dev collaboration to new ALM tools, there’s a lot that’s new.
Register today and we’ll see you on the road!
As we’ve done with past MSDN Roadshows, there will also be TechNet events for IT professionals in the mornings before the developer Roadshows. You’re welcome to attend both, just find your event here and register separately via the IT pro link.
Not in the NJ/NY/CT area?
My colleagues are running events all over the place, so take a look at the full event list to find something near you.
