June 2009 Area Microsoft User Group Meetings

June is here!  While summer officially starts June 21st, the summer season has already kicked off with Memorial day and promises to have a lot of great events going on in the tri-state community.

Internet Week NYC

The first week of June is Internet Week in NYC.  Come visit the Microsoft Gallery!  Microsoft has opened a temporary gallery at 414 W14th St between 9th Ave & Washington St.  The Microsoft Gallery is open to the public and will celebrate art and technology by showcasing digital and digital inspired art alongside Microsoft and Microsoft partner technologies such as multi-touch computing and rich internet experiences to demonstrate emerging technologies, innovation, as well as, inspire the local technology industry of New York City.

MSDN “Suburban” Roadshow

The Spring/Summer 2009 road show series are coming this month.  Bill Zack and I will take you on a 4 hour tour through Azure Storage, Windows 7 developer features, and jQuery + ASP.NET.  We kick it on 6/11 in East Windsor, NJ.  We follow up with a stop in Parsippany, NJ on 6/16, and then wrap the series on 6/24 in NYC.  For details and registration, see my previous post here.

Hartford Code Camp

Saturday June 13th head up to the Hartford area for what promises to be a great code camp event.  You can check out the list of 30 speakers & sessions here.  To register for the event, go here.  The event is being hosted at New Horizons Computer Learning Center in Bloomfield, CT.  This is a free event, and will also include a career fair onsite.

User Groups

Of course, don’t forget about your local user groups!  There’s never been a better time to come out each month and network with your peers as you learn about the latest developer technologies.  Each month, industry experts come to speak at user groups throughout the area.

These groups attract both local and national expert speakers.  These meetings are all volunteer driven and free!  They’re success depends on your participation.  So don’t let a valuable resource go to waste!
