Stephen R. Goodwin

Some sad news to pass on from Bill Zack...

I have some sad news to relate to with you today.  Stephen Goodwin passed away on the morning of March 7, 2008.

I have known Stephen for over 12 years, from the time that he joined the New York Enterprise Windows User Group through the time that he took over leadership of the group five years ago, up to the present.  Stephen always dedicated himself tirelessly to the running of the group as well as to his personal business pursuits.  During that time we became friends on a personal as well as on a professional level.

He will be greatly missed by all of us.

According to the New York Times a gathering for his friends and family will be held at Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Home 325 East 87th Street, NYC on Sunday March 9th, from 2PM to 4PM.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The United Negro College Fund or an educational opportunity of your choice.

I met Stephen just over two years ago when I joined the Evangelism team here at Microsoft.  Stephen was a great guy, and excellent leader in the Microsoft community.  He had a strong passion around helping to raise others up in our industry.  His leadership in the community will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace Stephen.

I worked with Stephen as his Microsoft tPAM since April 2007.  He was by far the most dedicated and involved Microsoft partner I worked with.  His overall life experience and knowledge was apparent in the way he excelled in business and leadership.  I’ll miss the phone calls from Stephen saying " This is Steve from New York…"

    You will be missed Stephen.

I just learned today (4/18/08) that Steve has passed. I’ve known him since he was 17 years old and was probably at the track meet when he ran. My heart is broken.

    Rest in peace, Steve.
