BarCampNYC2 Round-Up

Wow!  BarCampNYC2 has finally come and gone.  I had such a great time meeting so many folks and participating in lots of various discussions.  Thanks to all of the BarCamp organizers who worked hard to make the event a success!  And thanks to the many other sponsors who contributed food, money, furniture, and gaming.

This was my first BarCamp, so it was a new experience for me compared to many other conferences & events I've been to.  I completely loved the disussion/brainstorming/collaboration aspect of it.  BarCamp definitely is not for going to sit in a classroom and "learn" something as a student.  It's all about the participation.  Many of the best conversations took place outside of the conference rooms and in the open areas on the bean chairs.  The collective brainpower in the space was unreal.

I look forward to keeping in touch with many of the folks I met at BarCamp.  For those whom I didn't get a chance to talk to, feel free to reach out to me via the EMail link on this blog.  I'm always up for keeping the conversation going here on the blog or offline.

I'm sure there will be a slew of BarCamp round up posts floating around out there.  The official event post-mortem is up on the BarCamp wiki here.  I'll have to catch up on my feed reading to see what others are saying on their blogs.  In the meantime, there are almost 300 pix from the event up on Flickr.  Check them out here.

Here's one of my favorites:

(The feedback session was great!  While lots of Apple fans provided welcome feedback on MS, luckily no real apples from lunch at the back of the room were actually thrown at me!)
