Want $10,000?

I understand why, but I really wish that most contests did not include the line “Employees of Microsoft Corporation… are not eligible to enter.” I just found a really neat contest. People submit ideas for an application that they want to create, the deal is that it has to use one of the Visual Studio Express versions, C#, VB.NET, Visual Web Developer, you get the idea. 12 Finalists will be selected from the entries to complete their projects and go head to head with each other. The grand prize winner walks away with $10,000!

I can think of quite a few web applications that could be done in VWD Express that could just kick butt, and pay for a nice little vacation some where, but alas, I’m not eligible, and that’s a good thing.

So go check it out and submit a killer idea!

all these "win $x", "win an xbox" blog posts are starting to get really annoying you guys!

I keep up with blogs via blogs.msdn.com and one in every three posts is about some competition. Keep the info coming, not ads.

By the time it is reviewed and completed, I could have made 2-4x the amount they are offering, so the incentive is not that great unless a course your a starving college student.  Go Bengals!

"Each selected Finalist grants to each of Microsoft (including its affiliates, employees, agents, and contractors) and the Contest Judges an irrevocable, royalty free, fully paid up, worldwide license to use, review, assess, test and otherwise analyze the Project and all its content in connection with this Contest. Microsoft shall be free to use for any purpose the residuals resulting from access to or work with the Finalist’s Projects. The term "residuals" means information in intangible form, which is retained in memory by persons who have had access to the Projects, including ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained therein."
