On a SharePoint site's document library, online presence of the users in default view (allitems.aspx) is not visible, but it is visible in a datasheet view.

This issue occurs because the master page code has problem/s, the customization in the master page might result into this.

To solve this issue try the following steps:

Revert the site's master page to default.master (non-modified i.e. out of the box).

Or else, if you want to use your custom master page, then create it based on the default.master with proper code in it.
