SoloInsight has an interesting BizSpark case study in form of their flagship product, CloudGate: An ultimate smart gate platform that offers various ways of authentication from RFID/NFC, Barcode, Palm vein, phone gestures, 3D face and IRIS recognition to QR code and many more, all packaged within one smart gate solution, which is mainly built on Microsoft technologies suite.
Here’s how the team at SoloInsight views Microsoft BizSpark,
“The Bizspark program is a true reflection of Microsoft’s commitment to the advancement of technology. For a startup that was bootstrapping and had been self-funded, building the core infrastructure and tools from scratch required a lot of energy and a lot of money. Microsoft made it possible for us to have access to the required software and tools by providing us free licenses. This enabled us to use all of our time, energy and funding for research and development and to focus on what makes us unique.
Rather than re-inventing the wheel by building core infrastructure for our application, SoloInsight has leveraged its BizSpark partnership and utilized Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and SQL Server to create our products that are currently being used by more than 100 clients across Pakistan. We have been able to develop and expand at an exponential rate because Visual Studio provided an excellent framework to develop on. As a partner, Microsoft has provided access to expert resources along with access to excellent tools. We have recently recruited talent from Microsoft and we are currently undergoing discussions for training and further hiring. Microsoft has helped us make tremendous innovations and we look forward to developing our growing relationship.
We have a long-term partnership with Microsoft. We are looking forward to utilize the power of Azure at full strength. We have re-engineered the user interface of our CloudGate on WPF, and we are very impressed with what we can achieve with it. We are working closely with Microsoft IOT Team to embrace the core architecture of IOT. We are shifting our reporting engine to Power BI which turns data into powerful visuals and analytics. We are also building CloudGate apps for Cortana and Hololens.
One of the best thing Microsoft does is help with the hiring. They provide introductions to a deep talent pool of Microsoft trained resources. We have successfully identified and hired key resources from this group in the past, and we look forward to hire more talent from this resource pool in near future.”
