Leveraging System Center, SQL Server Analysis Services and Peformance Point to monitor and manage SQL Server deployments

I will be going to TechEd next week and just saw a preview of a very interesting presentation from our PerformancePoint and System Center teams.  They teamed up to to build a "BI for IT" solution using System Center, SQL Server Analysis Services and PerformancePoint.   They will be presenting their work at TechEd on Friday the 13th at 1PM (always a good day for a presentation 😉 and the session is BIN351.

The presentation has motivated me to start learning more about PerformancePoint and I hope to put some of that learning to use in the coming weeks to build a sample solution using  the SQL Server 2008 Performance Data Collectors and Performance Warehouse and of course I will blog and post my learnings as I make progress with that effort.

Another session I would encourage you to attend is Buck Woody's Day in the Life of a DBA (Session DAT53, Friday at 10:15am).  Buck will share with you the latest SQL Server 2008 features and how they will help you gain time back in your day.  Buck is a great presenter and I think you will really enjoy his presentation.   He is also holding a session (DAT353) on Performance Monitoring with SQL Server 2008 at 2:45pm.

Please share you own approaches for monitoring and managing multiple servers across your enterprise.

I look forward to meeting some of you at TechEd next week.  I will be working at the database security pod for most of the week.
