What are the scoping rules for variables in nested courtyards?

I dreamed that I had to fix a bug caused by variable redeclaration inside a nested courtyard. Had to move the horses out of the way first.

And then it got weird.

I won't go into the orchestra rehearsal that turned out to be just a recording played on a loudspeaker in an empty concert hall. Because you wouldn't believe that part.

  1. Strange, you would expect horses to mean something stable, so what were horses doing in something that had bugs.

@Crescens2k – Let alone something variable, with animals that definitely belong in a stable.

Raymond; have some faith in your readers. We can deal with it. :)

I'm really enjoying this mini-series of "weird programming-related dreams that Raymond had." I hope his subconscious continues to supply material.

  4. I wonder if you'll start to have meta-programming-related-dreams… ie, dreaming about posting about a weird dream.

As long as there is no dream analysis I'm fine with it.

I can certainly get it. It's the concert hall that's doing rehearsal of orchestra performance, right? That means the doors should be closed during that, and you shouldn't get in at that time anyway. :P

I have such a lame dreamlife.

The few times I can remember anything about my dreams they're either terrifying (thankfully that's rare) or they're like the one from last night where I was trying to get a coke from the 7-Eleven drink dispenser and it wouldn't work.  My attempts to fix it just made things worse, and the people behind me in line were getting impatient.

    Hardly "Unknown Kadath" material.
