Racking up the frequent shopper points at the register office

In Scotland, a 24-year-old woman got married for the fourth time. The first three ended under unusual circumstances. Let's see, for starters, marriage number one ended when her husband ran off to marry her mom, and the woman even served as a bridesmaid at her mother's wedding. Oh, and a musical thong was also involved.

When I read this article, I thought, "Certainly the UK has a counterpart to The Jerry Springer Show, doesn't it?" It appears that I am not disappointed.

We also have a British answer to Rikki Lake in Trisha (http://www.trishatv.com/).

I had to read that article with my head in my hands – good find! Are you aware of the term chav (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chav)?

    Aren’t you glad you’re not British? :)

Reminds me on one line from Dilbert:

"How’s it my fault that my cadaver boyfriend is acting cold?"

I think you must live sheltered lives at Microsoft. I have worked here in the USA with a number of women who were on marriage number three before 25 years of age. Granted, three isn’t four, but it reduces my tendency to wonder at the Scot.

    Really doesn’t suprise me.

Sometimes I think half the people in my country have mated with vegtables.

It’s not known as the Daily Retard in Scotland for nothing…

Half the people in the world have mated with vegetables; just not every country has the same variety of vegetable.

That show you linked to was described as "Human Bear Baiting" by British Judge (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2007/sep/24/television)

I can’t think of a better description for that kind of TV.

  8. Morten says:

If only someone would take that to the logical conclusion and actually introduce bears in those shows I might go out and buy a TV again, just to watch evolution in action… :-)

yo raymond i wank to ask you, how to display balloon tooltip, the same used to inform user he can’t enter alpha characters into edit control with integers only style set

i’ve reversed common controls library, and it loads “illegal characters” strings from its own resources and sends a message to the main window (and then MessageBeep), so is it some internal stuff?

(i would put it in suggestion box, but it’s disabled :( )

    so sorry and thanks :)

[The suggestion box is closed for a reason. It’s explained on um the suggestion box page. -Raymond]
