The Microsoft Cafeteria Tour (Redmond 2006 Edition)

In 2006, Christian Buckley set forth on a grand mission: To visit every cafeteria on Microsoft's Redmond campus. This marathon effort went by the name Microsoft Cafeteria Tour 2006, or for those in the know, MSCT2k6.

Those looking for off-campus dining options can make use of this map mashup of restaurants which provide discounts to Microsoft employees. (Note: Rumored to be out of date, but still a useful starting point.)

Several times over the years the scripting team made that attempt — the first one we called the Tour De Marriott, which should tell you how long ago it was.

Back then there was actually considerably more variation in quality and services provided at each cafeteria.  Building Four clearly had by far the best pizza, for instance. Now they seem to be pretty much indistinguishable.

Oh, I don’t know about that…RedWest café usually manages to distinguish itself.

(now expecting a huge crush as people see for themselves)

On the mashup, I like that Pizza Schmizza shows up in Australia. Amusing bug when you realized why.

Is RedWest the ski lodge?  Can’t say that I’ve found the food outstanding there, but it is a nice atmosphere and the seats are comfy.

The food upstairs is really pretty good, but sometimes people don’t even know it’s there.
