When doing Windows Embedded Standard 7 OS development, you use ICE and IBW to generate your image (see this white paper for more details and entries on the Windows Embedded Standard blog). Then once the image has been generated you might want to modify it, add feature sets, add drivers, that you “forgot” in ICE or IBW, and you don’t want to go through the whole process.
To do so there is a command line tool called DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management). Check this post for details.
While DISM is really powerful, not everyone is comfortable with command line tools (hey we are not all these kind of geeks you see in movies typing like crazy on their keyboards…). Here is a UI for DISM that Elbacom (Gold partner) has been developing. Good stuff!
