Windows Embedded Standard 7 has shipped

Tuesday, at the ESC Silicon Valley conference, Kevin Dallas, GM for the Windows Embedded group announced the release of Windows Embedded Standard 7, the componentized and embedded version of Windows 7.

While most of the features of the new Embedded OS where already in the CTP that has been out for some months now, a new feature has been revealed during the keynote: Windows Media Center is now part of the components available. This mean you should expect Set-top-boxes offering the Windows Media Center experience out soon!
