TechEd North America 2009, registration is opened!

imageThe Web site is live and you can now register for TechEd US. This year it will take place in Los Angeles, CA from May 11-15.

So what will be available for you Embedded developers?

the answer is: 2 pre-con seminars and a full track of breakout sessions.
The pre-cons will be dedicated to the core Embedded developers and will bring you through deep dive into the latest generation of tools for creating Windows Embedded devices. You will get a chance to meet with the product teams and to be presented the latest technologies and tools for Windows Embedded CE and Windows Embedded Standard. Each of the precon is a full day of demo packed deep dive sessions.
The main event track will be presenting the Windows Embedded technologies to a more broad audience: lots of concrete demos on how to use Windows Embedded to build specific devices and overviews, roadmaps…
So this year, TechEd gives Embedded developers a place where they can network and learn more about the technologies they already use today (pre-cons) and a unique occasion to extend their knowledge on technologies that are now part of the Embedded development story like .Net, Silverlight, Web Services during the main TechEd event. And non-Embedded developers a place where to discover Windows Embedded and learn how to leverage their actual developer skills to build the future generation of devices.

BTW, is there any particular sessions you would like to see (both for the deep technical dive session and for the main track)? Feel free to comment on this post!

Pre-con 1 - Deep Dive into Windows Embedded Compact tools:
Microsoft is dedicated to providing tools for Embedded developers, with several technologies and tools addressing the very demanding needs of companies building devices. You can use these tools to design, customize, and build Embedded Operating Systems, and also to debug them, test them, and maintain them. Windows Embedded Compact is a real time componentized OS targeting several CPU architectures. It comes with different tools to design, develop, debug, and test a customized operating system along with tools enabling developing, debugging, and testing applications for the customized OS. This seminar takes you into very technical domains, such as on-device debugging, real time capabilities, Board Support Packages development, Bootloaders development, devices maintenance and management. Don’t miss this pre-conference seminar if you are a Windows Embedded CE developer or if you want to learn what Windows Embedded Compact development can offer you. This is a great opportunity to meet developers and experts from the product group and ask them the toughest questions you surely have!

Pre-con 2 - Deep dive into the Windows Embedded “Quebec” tools:
Microsoft is dedicated to providing the right tools for Embedded developers, with several technologies and tools addressing the very demanding needs of companies building devices. You can use these tools to design, customize, and build Embedded Operating Systems, and also to debug, test, and maintain them. Windows Embedded Standard "Quebec" is a componentized version of Windows 7 with the addition of Embedded Enabling Features. It comes with different tools to design and deploy a customized operating system. This  seminar takes you into very technical domains, such as designing a "Quebec" image, the creation of a custom shell, the usage of the Embedded Enabling Features, and servicing "Quebec" devices. Don’t miss this pre-conference seminar if you are a Windows Embedded Standard developer or if you want to learn what Windows Embedded "Quebec" can offer you. This is a great opportunity to meet developers and experts from the product group and ask them the toughest questions you surely have!

Main event track - Windows Embedded:
Did you know you're surrounded by embedded devices? The Windows® Embedded track gives you the opportunity to learn about Microsoft product and technologies for embedded devices, including how software can be used to power real-time, small footprint, low-power connected devices. If you want to bridge out beyond PCs and servers to the world of embedded devices, this track is right for you.
