Certifications Update

Hi everyone

In case you didn’t know, the CRM and ERP Sales and Presales exams are now available online – set an hour or two aside when you feel you’re ready and go and sit them!  Although they are not required for your competencies until May 2011, we strongly recommend that you get these certifications as soon as you can - they can only be good for your business!  The Methodology exam has been out for quite a while too – don't forget that you need the Methodology Certification by October – less than 2 months away.

The latest competency guide is out on the Partner Network, and I thought I’d just summarise the certification requirements again for you all.

For the Silver Competency (formerly CRM/ERP Competency):

  • 1 Sales Accreditation
  • 1 Presales Accreditation
  • 2 Methodology Certifications
  • 3 Microsoft Certified Specialists covering the required application exams

For the Gold Competency (formerly CRM/ERP Advanced Competency):

  • 2 Sales Accreditations
  • 1 Presales Accreditation
  • 3 Methodology Certifications
  • 6 Microsoft Certified Specialists covering the required application exams

Your employees or contractors who pass the applicable advanced competency exams are only eligible toward one advanced competency (page 8 of the guide).  For example, if you are aiming for Gold in both CRM and ERP, then you require six people to pass the Methodology exam.  Check PartnerSource for details on all the above exams - and the Partner Academy for details on the suggested pre-requisites for the Sales, Presales & Project Management (Implementation Methodology) areas.  We did run all the suggested instructor led courses back in June - if you missed those then the Partner Development Centre in Australia has them scheduled fairly regularly.

In addition, for both Silver and Gold, from October this year your product exams must be on the following versions:

  • Dynamics AX 2009
  • Dynamics CRM 4
  • Dynamics GP 10
  • Dynamics NAV 2009 (except Financials, which can be on V5)
  • Dynamics SL 7
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Any questions, contact any of our team.  We're all here to help. 🙂
