New Auckland .NET User Group – First meeting 24 May 2011

Rob Maher is starting a new user group in Auckland based on anything to do with the .NET stack.  The group will meet in central Auckland on the 4th Tuesday of every other month.  Rob will be the first speaker and is hoping to get local notables along with the odd overseas celebrity to present regularly.

The group will focus on learning and provide a great opportunity to network with your peers in the .NET world who are based in Auckland.  There will be beer / pizza and a chance for some free prizes.  Register at https://aucklandnetusergroup.groups.live.com and sign up now!

The first session will be include introductions, a chance to provide your opinions on the best direction for the group, as well as a Behaviour Driven Development overview.

Have you heard about Behaviour Driven Development? Curious to see what it’s all about? This session will trace the history of BDD from inception to today's practices. We will look at a selection of popular BDD frameworks and see how we can integrate them into the ALM toolset.

Rob Maher is currently an Agile Development coach at IAG. He is NZ’s only Professional Scrum Trainer and Professional Scrum Developer Trainer with Ken Schwaber's Scrum.org ( https://scrum.org ). Rob has run many Scrum and ALM training courses and workshops. With over 15 years of software development experience he has a history of leading change in large organisations. Rob has helped several large companies transition to Scrum and improve their software development lifecycle using solid ALM practices.

First meeting is on Tuesday 24th May at 5.30pm at IAG - 1 Fanshawe Street Auckland. Register.
