Professional Visual Studio 2005 Team System Wrox Book Cover ThumbnailIt’s about time I blog that… my book has been published!  Professional Visual Studio 2005 Team System by Wrox Press

This has been over a year in the making!  #1 thanks goes out to Jean-Luc David, the lead author.  Not only did he let me participate in the book, but he was very easy to work with and has become a great friend in the process.

The authors are (from left to right):
Jean-Luc David, Tony Loton, Erik Gunvaldson, Christopher Bowen, Noah Coad, and Darren Jefford

Our book is focussed on the deep technical and usage details of Team System.  It covers how to use the tool, customise, and extensibility.  I only wrote one chapter, #17 on Generic Testing, but it has some of the best code examples (in my humble opinion).  There’s a great section about Running NUnit Tests & Importing Results into the Team Test engine.

Jean-Luc happened to come into town the week the book hit the shelves, so we called up Erik and went to the local Barnes & Noble to sign the books.  It was fun!  It’s cool being a “published author”.

There are several other great Team System books out including:

It’s a blast being “an author”.  I can check that off my life list of things to do (literally).  What’s next?  Well I’d love to write more someday.  It’s a real time commitment.  But obviously I like to write, blog, etc so someday there’ll be another, I’m sure of it.  In the mean time, I hope people really enjoy this book and get a lot of it.  Rock on with Team System!
