SQL Server 2012 Announcement and Disclosures at PASS 2011

SQL Server announcements and disclosures are being revealed this week at The Professional Association of SQL Server (PASS) Summit 2011:

▪ New naming conventions for the newest SQL Server product:
    ▫ Denali is now SQL Server 2012 (official name)
    ▫ Crescent is now Power View (official name)
    ▫ Apollo is now ColumnStore Index (the descriptive name ColumnStore Index is to be used going forward, with official name pending)
    ▫ Juneau is now SQL Server Data Tools (official name)

▪ The HP Enterprise Database Consolidation Appliance will be available this November. This appliance is optimized for SQL Server, and offers a complete solution to speed deployment and simplify management of thousands of databases with a private cloud.
