Back in business

Just got back from a long vacation in India. Still haven't quite fully recovered from my jet lag. I have heard (and kinda experienced) that the jet lag seems to be worse when coming back from India to the US, than vice-versa. Would be interesting to know what (if any) is the explanation for this phenomenon. Will google it sometime.

While in India, I was all the while in my home town of Delhi. What amazed me this time was the drastic reduction in pollution, thanks to the conversion of ALL public transport buses and autos in Delhi to CNG. You need to have seen the terrible state of pollution in Delhi to really appreciate what a drastic improvement it has been. Kudos to the Delhi government, the Supreme court, Delhites (for putting up with the strikes and what not) and last but not the least, the bus and auto rickshaw operators for actually converting to CNG, inspite of the problems of availability etc. during the initial period. The fact that Delhi was able to do this, makes me really proud to be a Delhite (or at least an ex-Delhite).

And among other things, the Metro construction is also going on in full swing. It has created a lot of traffic congestion at places, but should be worthwhile in the long run. Can't wait to try it out on my next trip home (one sector is already operational, but I didn't get a chance to try it out this time). All in all, things are looking pretty good for Delhi.
