Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 Migration Toolkit Beta
Overview
You can use the beta version of VSMT to create images of physical computers and deploy them in virtual machines running on Virtual Server 2005. With VSMT, you can migrate source computers running the following operating systems to virtual machines in Virtual Server 2005:
| • | Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack (SP) 6a, Standard and Enterprise Editions |
| • | Windows 2000 Server SP 4 or later |
| • | Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP 4 or later |
| • | Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition |

To Register for the VSMT Beta

Go to the BetaPlace Web site (https://www.betaplace.com/sign-in/signin.asp). |

Sign in using a Microsoft .NET Passport account. After you sign in, the Welcome to Microsoft Beta page is displayed. |

In the Guest ID box, type vsmt_beta, and then click OK. The Welcome to Microsoft Beta Guest Access page is displayed. |
4. |
Click the Virtual Server 2005 Migration Toolkit link. |
5. |
Follow the instructions on the screen to register for the VSMT beta and download the software. |
