Microsoft is not going to adandon Vista that is pretty clear and normal support will apply. Secondly Vista is a great stepping stone to Windows 7, as the compatibility between Vista and Windows 7 is going to be very good.

When Windows 7 comes out, you will have the choice. Upgrade, or stay with Vista and we will continue to support.
