Microsoft Ships Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 2008

image At the RoboDevelopment Conference we announced the availability of Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 2008.

This new release includes a simple programming model to support building asynchronous applications, a set of visual authoring and simulation tools to aid in application development, and tutorials and sample code to help developers get started. This the third major release which has had lots of support throughout the robotics community.

While this is a great solution for the hobbyist like me, companies like ABB, who supplies industrial robots and robotics software, is among the first companies support this platform with a connectivity package known as ABB Connect to Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio 2008 (ACM).

You can download the Express Edition at no cost, or purchase the Standard Edition. The Academic Edition can be obtained through MSDNAA. The release contains a number of exciting new features as well as many new samples and tutorials.
