Steve Ballmer Live At The Churchill Club

There has been some interesting commentary going around on TechMeme from a meeting that Steve Ballmer had at the Churchill Club where he talked about Search, but also acknowledged something called Red Dog.

Here was some of the commentary from Barrons.

7:56 Ann is asking about something called Project Red Dog; he says they will talk about it at the developers conference in six weeks. (It is some sort of cloud computing venture.)

7:58 Ann wants to know if they are still loved by developers. Steve says they could do better in certain areas, including scientific computing. The other area is the Web; 40% of Web servers run on Windows. 60% on Linux. 40 is less than 60; big numbers are good in the game of share. There are things like Project Red Dog that will change the game to some degree, he says.

I am not sure I can wait 6 weeks.......
