Cumulative Update 8 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 has been released

Cumulative Update 8 includes all application and platform hotfixes and regulatory features that have been released for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015.

The cumulative update includes hotfixes that apply to all countries and hotfixes specific to the following local versions:

  •   AU – Australia
  •   AT – Austria
  •   BE – Belgium
  •   CH – Switzerland
  •   CZ – Czech Republic
  •   DE – Germany
  •   DK – Denmark
  •   ES – Spain
  •   FI  – Finland
  •   FR – France
  •   IS – Iceland
  •   IT – Italy
  •   NA – North America
  •   NL – Netherlands
  •   NO – Norway
  •   NZ – New Zealand
  •   RU – Russia
  •   SE – Sweden
  •   UK – United Kingdom

Note: You must convert the database if you are upgrading to this cumulative update from a cumulative update earlier than Cumulative Update 8 (build 41370). For more information, see Converting a Database in Help for Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
However, if you then open the converted database in an older version of the development environment (such as Cumulative Update 7 or earlier), the database will be silently downgraded. You will not see a warning.
This has no impact on database structure. Users connecting to a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server that accesses this database will not be affected. But we recommend that you immediately convert the database  again by opening it the new development environment from Cumulative Update 8.

Where to find Cumulative Update 8

You can download the cumulative update from KB 3069272 – Cumulative Update 8 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 (Build 41370).

  1. The KB article above still states that only Builds below 39663 from CU4 will require a conversion, but the information here is correct. A CU7 database of the previous month also prompts the conversion warning. Please correct the KB article.

  2. Rafael Rezende says:

I just got the download link for the W1 version in my email and I'm getting 500 – Internal server error when I try to download.

I also had the same problem downloading the North America CU7 earlier today.

    Any ideas?

  3. Navision Magician says:

I have the same problem downloading the ENU file.

    "485112_ENU_i386.exe couldn't be downloaded"

  4. If you open the database of this update with an older client (tested with Build 40938 from CU7) the database receives a downgrade conversion (without warning!). Is that supposed to be a new feature?

Afterwards you have to open this database with build 41370 to reconvert it to its proper technical status. Only here the usual warning message pops up in advance.

  5. D says:

Correctly downloaded all of them exception for the ES and NA version. They give a "unknown network error".

Also – anyone: Any reason for NAV2013R2 CU20 and NAV2013 CU27 no longer listed here?

  6. Rafael Rezende says:

I just tried downloading again and it seems the download problem is fixed!

  7. Urpo Kotipalo says:

At least Finnish localisation of CU8 has an error, Change to table 114 Sales Cr.Memo Header is not correct.

The fix for this table says:

371881 In the Sales Invoice Header table and the Sales Cr.Memo Header table, the Canceled field uses a different field number. Sales TAB 114

But instead of that, field 1300 is not renumbered, and the Finnish translation is changed to english (which is obviously wrong and should be "Peruutettu"). This is also shown in the changelog.

       { 1300;   ;Canceled            ;Boolean       ;CaptionML=[ENU=Canceled;

                                                                 FIN=Canceled] }

    Please re-release this CU.

    Best Regards, Urpo Kotipalo

  8. Urpo Kotipalo says:

Finnish localisation of this CU has also other translations missing, for example new fields in Table 1226 Payment Export Data have english translation as finnish translation. This is a minor thing, County information is never used in Finland, but translations should nevertheless be there.

Other translations missing in table 9500 Email Item field 11

    Hello,

We have updated the blog post with the right build number for the cumulative update, and with a warning about  opening a database with a non-CU8 development environment. Thank you, Kai Kowalewski, for helping us identify these issues!
