Cumulative Update 4 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 has been released

Cumulative Update 4 includes all application and platform hotfixes and regulatory features that have been released for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015.

The cumulative update includes hotfixes that apply to all countries and hotfixes specific to the following local versions:

  •   BE – Belgium
  •   CH – Switzerland
  •   CZ – Czech Republic

  1. Guido Robben says:

"View and download the hotfix" doesn't work. "Sorry, the page you requested is not available.".

  2. Pallea says:

It seems to be a general problem 🙁 Also the NAV 2013 R2 does not work. (The NAV 2015 update 4 worked earlier today).

So lets try in a few hours again..probably to many downloads at the moment…

    Thanks

    Palle

  3. Jens Glathe says:

    Hi there,

I just got around to download the current batch of CUs. The download links are sort of broken, but (by chance) I found a way around it: Use the download link ("view and download the hotfix") in an IE window, without being signed in with your Microsoft account. Sounds strange, but works. If you try this in a private window in firefox, it looks like it's working, but it isn't. Maybe it's a good opportunity to fix this mess thoroughly and provide a download link via partnersource / customersource (if applicable).

    with best regards

    Jens

  4. Martin Nielander says:

@Jens; we are using the same approach as for other Microsoft products. There are some advantages and some disadvantages. One thing to notice is that you can always request the cumulative update if you know the kb number. Example with the link to this specific cumulative update:

    1. Insert the kb number as illustrated here; support.microsoft.com/…/kbhotfix. "kbnum=3035986" is the way to identify this cumulative update.

    2. Follow the steps to download, where you first will have to select the country version and secondly supply your email address.

    3. A link to the Cumulative Update will be e-mailed to you. Microsoft may contact you if the cumulative update is recalled.

I admit that a general Microsoft approach can seem a little strange for specific Dynamics NAV cumulative updates. But we still prefer this way to make the cumulative updates available as it gives us a feedback option we do not get with PartnerSource.

  5. Pallea says:

@Martin – thanks for the ZIP-filenames they make it much easier to do the version-collection-management 😉

At least we don't have to identify ourselves as "human" and not a robot anymore. Which also seemed totally crazy as we had to do a login in order to download.

It would be nice if the subject of the email was something like link: Dynamics NAV 2015 – Update x (build y) because the *.exe-filenames are crazy.

    Thanks

    Palle

  6. Martin Nielander says:

@Palle: I know and unfortunately the .exe filenames and the emails are auto generated by the server (and they are general to all Microsoft products, so we have no chance to make it specific to NAV). We can only control these fields: Product, Language, Platform, Fix name. So my only recommendation is; pay attention to the "Fix name".

  7. "View and download the hotfix" worked for me with Firefox, in combination with the IE tab plug-in, using "Open link in IE tab" at this point (without the usual further login due to the change of the browser engine). Within IE it still does not work if you are logged in, only if you are logged out. It's the same with the NAV 2013 and NAV 2013 R2 updates of yesterday.

  8. Julian says:

The KB-Article mentions that COD104049 was changed due to "If the company name starts with a number or has '-' in it, the upgrade from previous release fails."

I am not able to see any change in that Codeunit in the Local Objects directory – it seems that only the object in "Data Conversion Tools" was changed. Is that on purpose?

    Best regards,

    Julian

  9. guido robben says:

    Still not able to download.

  10. guido robben says:

"OBJECT Table 2000000110 Active Session"  & "OBJECT Table 2000000111 Session Event" Are missing form the fob NAV.8.0.39663.NL.CUObjects.fob

  11. Martin Nielander says:

@Guido: Good catch, but please notice that a database conversion is required to use this CU. The database conversion will automatically update the system tables you are referring to. Adding the system tables you refer to will break the possibility of implementing the .fob in an implementation that runs on a platform prior to CU 4.

    System tables are system tables.

    Hope it makes sense?

    Best regards Martin

  12. Martin Nielander says:

@Julian: Good catch, we included the documentation of that fix to early. I will get the kb updated to not include that reference. We will though nail it for the next CU 🙂

    Best regards Martin

  13. Mike_Glue says:

It would be most helpful if the dates on the upgrade toolkit objects were changed only when the object contents changed. Right now they are changed with each CU and it causes a bit of a pain in source control as the entire toolkit shows as being modified. It just makes it unnecessarily harder to find what real changes have been made.

  14. Arne Damkjer says:

Impossible to download. After entering e-mail address and click to retrieve CU, the resulting page says "Oops, page not found"!!?!

  15. damse says:

Download problems with both 2015 CU4 and 2013R2 CU17. Could someone please fix it? 🙂

  16. damse says:

Download problem can be solved by opening the KB page in InPrivate browsing !?!

  17. mdube88 says:

I'm unable to download this cumulative update.

    It was working last week.

  18. The appears to be something wrong with the SQL .bak file of the CH version, since it can’t be used to create a database. When you select that in SQL Management Studio, an error message that ‘no backupset was selected’ ( SQL Man. Std. 2014) or that the ‘conversion is not valid’ ( with SQL Man. Std. 2008 R2) comes up.
