    So…no further updates around the "System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel" error that still exists in build 36310?

  2. Aske Holst says:

    Very nice to find a new installation media based on b36366 included in the hotfix package. Thank you very much.

    I think you should make that clear somewhere, people have been asking for this for ages, so please let the world know!

  3. VCM says:

    Hi all,

    After aplying this new upddate, I just only can say that upgrading to NAV 2013 R2 from NAV 2009 R2 is, as a developer with more than 20 years experience, the worst expreience of my life. Who's gonna pay all that wasting time trying and trying? (My Customer will not do it and he's thinking about move to SAP.)

    Could somebody please, tell me THE RIGHT WAY to upgrade an SIMPLE Spanish 2009R2 Database to NAV 2013 without problems?

    Thank you.

  4. Jens Glathe says:

    Hi VCM, hi all,

    the installation media in the package is nice, makes some things easier. @Microsoft: Thank you for listening (at least a little) 🙂

    As for updates to 2013R2… when you say that the customer is thinking about going to SAP, then 7-digit € numbers will be involved… SAP is an interesting choice. Far more complex to set up and customize, a big kludge of software (think "onion technology" – it's only halfway bearable when you can live with the R/3 core and SAPGUI… or so), very complete (and complicated) standard workflows. But: Working EDI, working bank and payment interfaces, suited for larger multi-company setups. At least an idea on how to handle master data management. And a reporting (read: documents and reports) that appears to be working. But we're talking about a (>) 10:1 complexity and cost ratio here.

    When the customer is on 2009R2, what makes him go the risk of moving to 2013R2? What's the perceived or intended benefit? I can't see a viable (and truthful) answer for most scenarios, sad as it is.

    with best regards

    Jens Glathe

  5. VCM says:

    Sorry Jens Glathe, but i think that this is not an answer.

    As consultant/developer I woudn't have to be worried about System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel", and so on..

    We just need a Tool that works with problems as Nav did in earlier versions.

    Best Regards.

  6. Jens Glathe says:

    Hi VCM,

    … "We just need a Tool that works with problems as Nav did in earlier versions." Indeed 🙂 There you go, fitness for business use and all that. 🙂

    with best regards

    Jens

  7. guidorobben says:

    There is a problem with the hotfix. If I download the Dutch version, I get BE.

  8. guidorobben says:

    Also the application fob doesn't seem to be cumulative anymore.

  9. Sebastiaan Lubbers says:

    @Guido: Look for the one with code NLKB2955943 for 2013 and code NLKB2955941 for 2013R2. Also BE is new to the Rollup scene so that makes it appear it is not a cumulative update.

  10. Skordas says:

    Since my last update everytime when i run an object from the object designer Dynamics NAV starts a new roletailored client instance, even if i have one running/open. I didn't read anything about this problem, yet. Therefore i'm not sure if it is misconfiguration of my system (through updates) or a wished feature documented somewhere.

    Thank you in advance.

  11. guidorobben says:

    turn out there is a naming error. The fist Dutch download should be named Belgium.

  12. gunther.gebauer@modusconsult.de says:

    Package DEU has also the error: it is not DEU-German but for DEA-AT

  13. gunther.gebauer@modusconsult.de says:

    sorry, my fault – I choosed the wrong package – excude for my mistake

  14. ITALIAN VERSION OF DVD INSTALL ONLY ENGLISH SYSTEM CAPTIONS says:

    Italian version of the dvd install only english system captions.

    Soolution is to use standard dvd installation and then apply the rollup manually

  15. @Skordas

    Microsoft changed the interface of one of the DLLs without providing a compatible interface and broke "side by side" installs of V7r2 and other versions. You're seeing the change that fixed the ability to install but breaks a plain 'drop in' update because the GUIDs are different for the new DLL.

    Either use the PS1 script in the below blog or do a clean install from the CD image in the KB attached to this blog.

  16. Skordas says:

    Thank you Robert de Bath. I didn't found a powershell script to run, but reinstallation of a Dynamics NAV 36366 fixed the problem.

    Same occours to me…

    Hi There,

    My setup Nav 2013 R2 (Build 36281)

    I've found a bug in the standar Calculate Prod. Order object (Codeunit 99000773)

    PROCEDURE TransferTaskInfo

    RtngLineQltyMeas.SETRANGE("Routing No.",FromProdOrderRtngLine."Routing No.");

    RtngLinePersonnel.SETRANGE("Operation No.",FromProdOrderRtngLine."Operation No.");

    RtngLinePersonnel.SETRANGE("Version Code",VersionCode);

    IF RtngLineQltyMeas.FIND('-') THEN

     REPEAT

       ProdOrderRtngQltyMeas.TRANSFERFIELDS(RtngLineQltyMeas);

       ProdOrderRtngQltyMeas.Status := FromProdOrderRtngLine.Status;

       ProdOrderRtngQltyMeas."Prod. Order No." := FromProdOrderRtngLine."Prod. Order No.";

    Hope it helps.
