Introduction

Hi there. My name is Yossi Levanoni and I'm a Principal Architect on the Parallel Computing Platform team. In my current role, I am responsible for C++ AMP architecture. I have been working on C++ AMP since its early days as an internal incubation, more than two and a half years ago. Needless to say, my teammates and I are thrilled to see this technology finally making it into the hands of developers in the next release of Visual Studio.

Prior to working on massive parallelism I led the development team for a .NET Transactional Memory incubation, and prior to that I worked on a number of Microsoft products, including BizTalk Server, Live Communication Server and Live Meeting. I’ve been with Microsoft for eleven years now. Before joining Microsoft I had had the pleasure to work as a researcher at IBM, focusing on concurrent and parallel garbage collection for the Java virtual machine.

With the introduction out of the way, please stay tuned for more posts from me on C++ AMP!
