some WWDC notes

One of the weirdest parts about coming to WWDC is that it's one of the few places in the world where there's a line for the men's bathroom but not the women's. I feel like shouting 'neener neener' at them when I walk straight in to the women's room. Although that might not last forever: it seems like there are more women here than there were last year. We might take over, boys!

I said that the hallway conversations are my favourite part of WWDC. Tonight, the hallway conversations go to a new level at the WWDC Bash. It's the annual party. This year, Apple took over Yerba Buena Gardens and had Ozomatli play for the crowd. It's hard to tell the ratio of listeners to non-listeners, but I have to admit that I fell firmly in the non-listener camp. The band was fine, but there were so many interesting conversations to have that I couldn't quite stop. There's so many friends, new and old, to talk to! I met all sorts of people tonight, including someone from Pandora. I really like Pandora -- in fact, I'm listening to it right now. I don't keep any audio files on my work laptop (mostly because I got sick of restoring them when I reinstalled the operating system), so this is how I listen to music when I'm in a hotel (such as right now).

Tomorrow's the last day. One of the sessions that I most wanted to go to is the last session of the conference. I have to admit that I wish it were earlier. It's been a long week. I want to go home and start really thinking about what to do with all of the ideas that were born this week. I've got copious notes to myself -- I hope they still make sense on Monday morning!
