New Team. New Role. Accelerating Next Gen BI and Analytics

When I published my, “The End of an Era” post back in June, I shared some insights into the expedition I have been on and the path that I’ve been travelling down in pursuit of driving advanced Business Insights (BI) and data Analytics.Throughout this journey, the Cloud Partner Insights project I created has transformed from a report into a reporting suite, then a reporting suite into a data and analytics Business Insights backend platform bringing together dozens of master data sets from across Microsoft to power and enable in-depth and custom insights capabilities delivered through Power BI across Microsoft:

Now I am incredibly excited to be taking the next step on this journey!

Recently, the decision was made to put together a centralized team in our Business & Sales Operations unit whose focus is leading our BI and analytics architecture and strategy to transform data from across the company into world-class predictive BI and analytics to deliver rich, dynamic insights to enable our teams, from senior leaders to individual contributors, to gain deep insights into and run their businesses. In addition, they will be on point to lead the partnership and integration with our MSX Insights team in driving the Global Sales Transformation (GST) execution across the company.

I am extremely honored and excited to have been given the opportunity to lead this new, high-powered team as we take on this charter and continue the journey to transform our business through delivering a dynamic, modular, inter-connected BI & Analytics platform delivered through Power BI! The team is already comprised of rock stars brought together from other teams who were focused on independent data and BI projects previously, and now I have just one more data analyst and one data architect role left to fill and the team will be complete.

As has been a tradition in my career, with the new role and expanded charter, it’s time for a changing of the guard when it comes to the design of my computer. So for those of you who see me around, you will notice the shift in design on my Surface, moving from the CPI design alone to the reflection of the power of the integrated CPI and MSX Insights platforms coming together, continuing the journey to transform Information into Insights and Insights into Impact:

Here’s to another exciting year working with incredible people to help accelerate our delivering positive impact and capabilities in working with our customer and partners everywhere, and I could not be more excited!
