As you are probably aware, this year will mark the end of daylight saving time in the Russian Federation. What this means is, in basic terms, they have decided to cancel daylight saving time (DST) in the country and will not “fall back” to Russian Standard Time this fall. Because of this, they will no longer have to make the twice-a-year changes to their clocks. You may recall seeing this post earlier this year: Russia will abolish Daylight Saving Time, Microsoft will adapt and update.
While many of the PCs affected by this change will have already received the needed updates to address this change through Windows Update, we have several resources and information sources for consumers and IT Pros to utilize regarding this change:
