Win a Windows 7 PC and $7,000 in the 7 Ways To Change The World Competition

To celebrate the launch of Windows 7 we are launching an exciting new online competition today called 7 Ways to Change the World. The premise of this competition is relatively simple: Create a two minute video explaining how you believe a Windows PC could help a nonprofit organization make a greater impact on the world and submit it. The possibilities are endless! From something like how a Windows PC can help a food bank manage their inventory or helping to deliver after school care for kids or whatever solution you come up with.

From all of the submissions we receive, there will be 7 winners, and each person who submits a winning entry will receive a brand new PC with Windows 7 and a $7,000 grant for their chosen non-profit organization. Now you’ll want to be creative in your video in order to win and make sure you keep to the theme of how a Windows PC can help a nonprofit organization make a greater impact on the world, because the judges will be basing their winners choice on the following:

  • 25.00% - Originality
  • 25.00% – Composition
  • 50.00% - Adherence to Contest Theme

This Contest starts at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on October 21, 2009, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on November 11, 2009, so you’ll want to get started on your video creation soon. After all, November is just around the corner.

You will also want to make sure that the nonprofit organization you choose as your recipient of the prize, should you win, is an eligible organization. To be considered an eligible Organization, the group must be a currently registered 5013c public charity or public school, and must qualify to meet the Microsoft donation eligibility criteria requirements. Winning educational institutions must have a donation program and provide Microsoft with a donation letter prior to accepting the prize. You can see the full contest rules HERE.

You can learn more about the 7 Ways to Change the World contest, as well as submit your entry, view the FAQs, see submitted entries so far, and more directly from the 7 Ways to Change the World page.

Good luck to you and your selected nonprofit organization!

Thank you and have a wonderful day,
