Join in and help fight hunger with the “Browser for the Better” campaign!
Some days at Microsoft, we do things that just make you go, “Hmmmmmm….” Other days, we do things that you just want to share with everyone, and today is one of those days! Today we posted a release about, “Microsoft and Feeding America Join Forces to Fight Hunger,” where Microsoft and Feeding America have partnered up to help fight hunger in the United States through the “Browser for the Better” campaign. So what is this campaign and how can you join and help?
It is simple, really. For every completed download of Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft’s Browser for the Better campaign (running today through Aug. 8, 2009*) will donate the financial equivalent of eight meals to Feeding America’s network of 206 local food banks, which supplies food to more than 25 million Americans each year. The ways you can help are:
- Head out to the “Browser for the Better” campaign site and download Internet Explorer 8.
- Spread the word about the “Browser for the Better” campaign to your peers and those you know through your word of mouth, blogs, newsgroups, newsletters, etc. After all, the more people who participate, the more of an impact we can have on helping feed needy people through this campaign.
I hope you will help us in this campaign by utilizing the “Browser for the Better” campaign site for your Internet Explorer 8 download today and by helping us spread the word to increase the number of meals we can share.
