The official word is out. Windows 7 will become generally available on Oct. 22, 2009, and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be broadly available at the same time. In addition to this, we also announced that Microsoft will deliver Release to Manufacturing (RTM) code to partners in the second half of July for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as well.
Windows 7 has been getting very positive feedback and responses from Partners and others to date and we expect a great opportunity for our Partners with Windows 7 to help their clients improve and optimize both their and their businesses’ computing experience. For all of you Partners, remember that we have a lot of items out there for you on Windows 7 today that you can and should be taking advantage of:
- We have the FREE Dell Latitude E4300 Windows 7 Laptop contest from Microsoft for your Windows 7 videos
- More Windows 7 Resources and Training Sessions for you
- Plus, for those of you with Action Pack or who are Gold or Certified Partners, you will have access to the Windows 7 RTM code once we add it to the Partner software benefits through the Digital Distribution of Microsoft Software Benefits that is now live.
Thank you and have a wonderful day,
